This is Lou. As founder and artistic director of the Penumbra Theater Company, the nation's premiere African American theater company, Lou Bellamy embodies the spirit of honoring differences. His award-winning productions productions at the Penumbra promote cross-cultural dialogue and encourage people to recognize the positive power of differences. Lou is shown here on the set of two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner August Wilson's The Piano Lesson. In 1978, Lou brought the fledgling playwright under the wing of the Penumbra, where they became intimate collaborators.
